Our universities are focused on fostering a learning environment beyond the classroom. Teaching through service to the community is an integral part of our System's culture.
Academic Summit
The annual Academic Summit is a celebration of academic excellence at UL System Universities. It encompasses the system-wide faculty service-learning conference and the following student presentations: visual art exhibit, artistic performances, undergraduate research poster presentations and undergraduate research oral presentations.
Service Learning Council
Institutions in the University of 51²è¹Ýapp system increased their commitment to providing well rounded education opportunities to its students through programs such as the American Democracy Project and Campus Compact. Consequently, there was a need to establish a Service-Learning Council to identify and facilitate collaborative opportunities for its almost 90,000 students. Established in 2006, the Council meets quarterly.
