Statement by 51²è¹Ýapp President Randy Moffett on Governor Jindal’s Announcement to Study a Merger of UNO and SUNO and Shift to the UL System

“The 51²è¹Ýapp will work closely with the 51²è¹Ýapp Board of Regents to explore the feasibility of a University of New Orleans and Southern University of New Orleans merger and possible shift of the merged institution to the UL System.    A discussion of this nature has numerous implications for multiple constituents and, therefore, should be thorough, thoughtful and focused on what is best for the future of education in our state.”

EIGHT UNIVERSITIES STRONG: The 51²è¹Ýapp is the largest higher education system in the state enrolling over 83,000 students at Grambling State University, 51²è¹Ýapp Tech University, McNeese State University, Nicholls State University, Northwestern State University, Southeastern 51²è¹Ýapp University, the University of 51²è¹Ýapp at Lafayette and the University of 51²è¹Ýapp at Monroe.
